I loved finding things in the Where’s Waldo books when I was growing up. The thrill of success after finding Waldo or the hidden object was great. Mystery Case Files: Huntsville provides just as much fun.
The town of Huntsville is suffering a crime spree and you lead the team trying to solve who is behind the crimes. To solve a case you collect clues by finding a list of objects hidden in a crime scene. Some of the objects are easy to find and others are well hidden, occasionally requiring the help of a hint. Each case will take you to several crime scenes around Huntsville. There is a limited amount of time to find all of the clues and then use the Crime Computer to unscramble a picture showing the culprit. When you return to a crime scene for a different case, you may have to find the same clue as before, which is helpful to shorten your time. With each successful crime solved, your rank as a detective increases with the ultimate rank of Master Detective.
Creative characters and stories make Mystery Case Files: Huntsville a fun game. I played most of the game with my husband and we searched for clues together, which made the game a lot more fun. It would be great if a future game in the Mystery Case Files series had a co-op mode where both people worked to solve a crime together but got separate points for the number of objects they each found.
I would recommend this game to people who like games that are visually challenging or are looking for something that offers different game play than popular puzzle and strategy games.
